hundred and forty-five: legacy

Standard

When I die,
What will I leave you?
Will you have only memories
Of my voice and face?
Would my footsteps have faded
From the soil of this earth?

I want to leave you
A piece of me.
A part of my life
That climbed the highest peaks
So that others
Could have a brighter tomorrow.

Have I done enough?
I think not.
There is still so much
I can do for others.
Until my last breath leaves me,
I promise
To speak for others,
To hear their voices,
To care for them
And hold them high.
